High Desert Emmaline
Natchez Tracers
Here’s a song Lewis and Josh wrote a couple of years ago. High Desert Emmaline is a song about getting older and reflecting on an adventurous life that's left one weathered and battered, but still admired by fellow travelers. Josh and Lewis wrote this one afternoon during the pandemic, loosely as a tribute to a friend, complete with 1970's
Here’s a song Lewis and Josh wrote a couple of years ago. High Desert Emmaline is a song about getting older and reflecting on an adventurous life that's left one weathered and battered, but still admired by fellow travelers. Josh and Lewis wrote this one afternoon during the pandemic, loosely as a tribute to a friend, complete with 1970's references and nod to Sin City. We recorded this last week. Lewis and Josh are on guitars and vocals. Bill Ferri is on bass and Curt Redding is holding down the drums and added some shaker, tambo and background vocals too. This tune felt appropriate to add just a tinge of hoedown vibe. Josh threw in a little mandolin and long-time collaborator and friend Derek Pell returns again with some wonderful fiddle. Casey Eood at The Insanery engineered, mixed, mastered and co-produced it with us.
